Jack Hansen is mostly retired from a career in research and research leadership. He still works part-time for the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition and consults for the NASA Ames Research Center.
Jack became particularly interested in the personal dimension of transition from full-time work as he was making his own transition. The book Shaping a Life of Significance for Retirement, which he coauthored with Jerry Haas, focuses on this topic and grows out of extensive interviews and other interactions with retired men and women from around the USA. Jack and Jerry continue to conduct seminars and classes on this topic, as well as writing for a range of organizations that serve retirees.
Jack and his wife, Pat, reside in Greenville, South Carolina.
