The parable of the dishonest steward challenges us to examine our financial motives. Materialism can look like overspending, compulsive buying, hoarding, borrowing money on depreciating items, cheating on our taxes or maxing out our credit cards. Serving God instead of money leads to joy and abundant living.

Scripture: Luke 16:1-13, 1 Timothy 6:16-19
Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money destroys us. The richest are not those who have the most, but those who need the least. Money can't be the source of your happiness and security. Only God is. We are called to be generous and compassionate. Preached at Lifechurch.tv. Used by permission.
