The story of Ananias and Sapphira teaches the gravity of allowing Satan to gain a foothold in God’s church through lying and deception. The passage connects pretense, divided self, lack of integrity and satanic power. If God did not intervene and confront the lies, greed and deceit, it would be the death of the church from the start. We lose our integrity slowly, over small matters that lead into major ones.
