We can’t not worship. All of us worship someone or something. Either we worship the One True God, or we settle for a substitute. The opposite of THEOLOGY is IDOLATRY. The purpose of THEOLOGY is DOXOLOGY. “A LOW VIEW of God is the cause of a hundred lesser evils,” said A.W. Tozer. “A HIGH VIEW of God is the solution to 10,000 temporal problems.”
SERMON NOTES
Holy, Holy, Holy
Scripture: Isaiah 6:1-5, 8-9
Sermon Overview:
An attribute is not something God does; it is who He is. God is holy.
When we understand the attributes of God, our hearts open to respond to God, not by
what we
can do for Him but by standing in awe of who He is.
Sermon Series Questions:
God is holy. How does Isaiah 6:1-5 explain what God’s holiness looks like?
Holiness is Christlikeness. What aspects of how Jesus walked and talked do you
admire?
Sermon-Specific Questions:
When we surrender our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, our testimony becomes a
testament and a victory of a holy God who heals, saves, and delivers. What is one thing
you know that God has healed, saved, or delivered you from?
What part of you has been or is being shaken right now?
How could that shaking enable you to redefine your identity and security in God?
What part of yourself can you begin to love, knowing that you were fearfully and
wonderfully made by a holy God filled with intention and purpose? (Psalm 139:14)
How is it possible that God’s strength is made perfect in your specific weakness? (2
Corinthians 12:8-10)
